Congratulations To 2013 Yukon Quest Champion Allen Moore

If I could have predicted a winner at the beginning of the Yukon Quest based on what I saw through my subjective photographer’s eyes, I would have picked Allen Moore’s team pictured here. They were running smoother and more fluid than any other team I saw. Not surprisingly, Allen Moore of Two Rivers is in the lead as he embarks on the last 70 miles of the race between Two Rivers and the finish line in Fairbanks. A mere 16 minutes separate Moore from Hugh Neff who is in second place. Last year, after running 1,000 miles neck-in-neck,  Neff beat Moore by 26 seconds! The first musher will cross the finish line in Fairbanks today at around 7-8 AM Alaska Standard Time. I have a feeling that it will be Allen Moore. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: Allen Moore crossed the finish line in Fairbanks this morning at 6:54 AM in first place with 11 dogs in harness. Hugh Neff finished second, a little over an hour behind.
