Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race Start Tour In Anchorage

Looking forward to fly to Anchorage next week to guide the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race Start Tour. The 1,000-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race starts in Anchorage and finishes in Nome. It’s run each year to commemorate the emergency delivery in 1925 of diphtheria antitoxin to Nome. The Iditarod is Alaska’s #1 winter event and I am excited that Wild Alaska Travel will again be part of it!

Aerial View Of Turnagain Arm At Low Tide

Low tide in Turnagain Arm exposes the mudflats near Anchorage. Turnagain Arm is home to one of the biggest bore tides in the world (10-feet in height). The Turnagain Arm bore wave is the only one that occurs in the far north and the only one bordered by mountains, making it the most unique and most geologically dramatic bore tide in the world.
