Big Lake Break-Up

undefined

Evidence of winter activities in the form of various tracks left behind by snowmachines, trucks and ski planes still is visible on the fragmented sheets of ice at Big Lake north of Anchorage. Traveling on rivers and lakes is often impossible at this time of the year throughout much of Alaska, as many waterways are not safe to travel on until the ice has completely melted.
