Alaska's Glacial World – Formidable Yet Fragile

I have professed my love for the glacial world before, but as most of the glaciers in Alaska and elsewhere in the world are shrinking at an alarming rate, there is a certain urgency that clouds that love. Breathtakingly vast, our glacial world turns out to be as fragile and fleeting as it is formidable. Here, I am photographing inside a portion of the Mendenhall Glacier near its terminus that no longer exists.
