Alaska Marine Highway System Turns 50

Now in its 50th year, the Alaska Marine Highway has grown to 11 vessels and averages 330,000 passengers and 110,000 vehicles a year. Here, the M/V Malaspina plows through Lynn Canal on its way from Haines to Juneau, with Mount Golub looming in the distance.
