Fall In Denali National Park

I was fortunate to enjoy a gorgeous Labor Day weekend at Denali National Park. Vibrant fall colors and partly sunny skies created perfect conditions for aerial photography. This aerial view is looking down on the Denali National Park Road where it winds along the Eielson Bluffs west of the Eielson Visitor Center. To the right is the confluence of the Thorofare and McKinley River. The highest peak in the distance is Scott Peak, elevation 8,828 feet.

Fall Colors Along The McKinley River In Eagle Gorge

Beautiful fall colors line the McKinley River in Eagle Gorge. The fall colors at Denali National Park this year seem more vibrant than in other years.

McKinley River

McKinley River’s ever changing silty arteries and veins search their way through a vast gravel bar in Denali National Park. The power of water as a life force continues to amaze me, and I appreciate seeing these milky ribbons of water weave and wander back and forth, without any restraints, as they carry huge sediments loads eroded by glaciers.
