Thousands of gulls and hundreds of bald eagles, in addition to marine predators such as humpback whales, orcas and sea lions, gather at this time of the year to prey on spawning herring and hooligan in Berners Bay.

Eagle Beach – A Birder's Paradise

Eagle Beach, Juneau

It felt like spring the other day at Eagle Beach. Hundreds of gulls and other birds were congregating during low tide. Hard to imagine what spring will be like, as it sounds like it’s a great time to observe birds passing through during their annual migration.
