Bob Hinman Memorial Cabin, St. James Bay

There are several public use cabins around Juneau, some accessible only by foot, others such as the Bob Hinman Memorial Cabin in St. James Bay pictured here during a low tide, accessible only by boat or floatplane. The cabin is a memorial to Bob Hinman, a retired state biologist and Territorial Sportsmen member. Although we didn’t stay in the cabin, we checked it out and just fell in love with its gorgeous location. We look forward to renting it later in the fall for a weekend with another family. The mountains along the Chilkat Peninsula visible in the distance are Mount Golub on the far left and Mount Nun on the far right.
