Fall Leaves

Because of the dominance of coniferous trees and the relative lack of deciduous trees in Southeast Alaska compared to other parts of the state, the fall colors here are much more subtle. This shot, depicting a mixture of Mountain alder and Balsam poplar leaves along the West Glacier Trail, is a case in point.
