Glacial Beadwork

I ventured out to Mendenhall Lake yesterday with faint hopes to catch a glimpse of the wolf that had been seen on the lake on Saturday. Unfortunately, the wolf didn’t reveal itself again, except for a few tracks I saw along the lake shore. What caught my attention were some unusual patterns in the ice, a mixture of glacial mud, frozen ice and water. The transition into spring is one of my favorite times, as so many gorgeous abstract patterns in the snow and ice are being unveiled for a fleeting moment.
