We stayed in some of the best northern lights viewing places in Alaska (and in North America) where we could see the best and most intense aurora displays.

“I had wanted to see and photograph Aurora for last many years. After doing extensive research about best times and best location for many weeks, I signed up with Laurent Dick of Wild Alaska Travel for his March 2015 trip. To say that this was one of my best trip ever is an understatement. Laurent is such a great guide! His attention to details about each tour member, their skills with camera, their interests and their physical capabilities was impeccable. He was an amazing resource for everything about Alaska, its geography, history, local people and culture.  To top it up- he has great sense of humor!! I will never forget the perfect 7 days we had,

Alaska Northern Lights Viewing

The 2013 Alaska Northern Lights Tour was a great success. The Northern Lights put on an incredible show almost every night, like here along the Dalton Highway in the Brooks Range north of Wiseman. Photos like this one only do partial justice to what my guests experienced. For more information about the 2014 tour dates, please visit https://wildalaskatravel.com/alaska-northern-lights-tour

Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) Over Interior Alaska

Amazing displays of Northern Lights were visible over most of Alaska this past weekend. I took this shot along Murphy Dome Road in the Goldstream Valley near Fairbanks.

2012 Iditarod Tour And Northern Lights Viewing: An Alaska Winter Adventure Of A Lifetime

Alaska’s winter time is mysterious and magical! It’s also when the epic 1,000-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is run. I invite you to join me on an exclusive and unique 7-day Iditarod tour to Nome on the southern Seward Peninsula to experience the finish of the 2012 Iditarod. The itinerary will include joining in and participating in many of the events happening during ‘Iditarod Week’. Imagine playing golf on the sea ice in the Bering Sea Ice Classic! Since you’ll be visiting during March, the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights tend to be at their best so we will go out every night, weather permitting, to view and capture them. Having lived in Nome for several years and having traveled throughout the state, I can personally vouch that there is “no place like Nome!” I will definitely take you to some of my favorite and special places for capturing that golden moment. You’ll have a balance between group and individual time and while not overly strenuous, this is a participatory winter vacation and as a guest you should be relatively fit and able to handle the cold. This is, after all, an Arctic environment! Join me for this Alaska …
