Bill "Buckwheat" Overington Kayaking Mendenhall Lake

Bill “Buckwheat” Overington paddles his kayak at Nugget Falls, pictured above, and near the newly formed falls on the east side of Mendenhall Glacier, pictured below. I met Buckwheat during my years up at Denali National Park. Along with his wife Louise Lovrich and Joanna Cockman, he co-owns Denali Outdoor Center, which offers guided whitewater rafting, kayaking and mountain biking adventures at Denali National Park. He is considered one of the most experienced kayakers in the state. Buckwheat, Louise and their son Louis visited us on their annual journey south to Utah.
