Farewell to Alaska Bush Pilot Jim Andie

Jim Andie pilots his 1966 de Havilland Turbo Beaver on skis toward the Eldridge Glacier in Denali National Park in fall of 2010. During the summer and fall of 2010, I had the privilege to fly multiple times with Jim. I loved his passion for the mountains and the unique geology of Denali National Park. This year, Jim moved to Kodiak and started flying a de Havilland Otter on floats for Paklook Air. On Friday, Jim tragically lost his life when the floatplane he was piloting crashed near Kodiak. I am very saddened by this loss. Rest in peace, my friend, you will be greatly missed! My sincere condolences to your family.
