Southeast Alaska Coast Impression

Tracy Arm Waterfall (c) Laurent Dick - Wild Alaska Travel    Water, in frozen and liquid form, is ubiquitous along the coast of Southeast Alaska. The amount of water that is actually discharged into the ocean is staggering.

Thane Road Waterfall

I hadn’t been down Thane Road for a long time, so yesterday I went for a short drive to see some of the waterfalls. It always amazes me just how much water is coming down the steep slopes of Mount Roberts, especially after heavy rains. What eventually caught my attention was a little waterfall off the side of the road. The lushness of the area made me think I was in Hawaii, but the avalanche signs along the road brought me quickly back to reality.
