What's Wrong With This Picture?

It’s mid-December, and most of the lakes and ponds around Juneau have barely frozen over. This beaver pond near Mendenhall Lake in the notoriously colder upper Mendenhall Valley is almost free of ice altogether. Keeping our fingers crossed for colder temperatures to create smooth outdoor ice!
