Alaska Highway

It’s been almost exactly four years to the day since I last drove the Alaska Highway in its entirety, and I have been kind of missing it. Yes, it’s all paved now and recently upgraded, but the mystique is still there. There is something special, kind of mythical about this road, the combination of the history, the wilderness, space and emptiness. It’s a road unlike any other, slicing through northern British Columbia, the Yukon and into Alaska. During my last drive, I saw more Wood Bison than vehicles on the 200-mile stretch between Liard Hot Springs and Watson Lake!
