Yaktuat’s small boat harbor lies at the mouth of Yakutat Bay near the Gulf of Alaska. The name Yakutat is Tlingit, Yaakwdáat, meaning “the place where canoes rest”.The city of Yaktuat has only around 600 residents, but it’s the largest city in the United States by area. This aerial view looks north towards Russell Fjord and the Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness.
