The Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race is turning 30!

As the 1,000-mile Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race is about to celebrate its 30th running, I went back into my archives to find the first images I had taken of the race, back in 1991. These shots are of Charlie Boulding of Manley, who was the first musher to cross the finish line in Whitehorse.  He went on to win the Yukon Quest again in 1993. Below is an old grainy slide image I scanned of Charlie and I chatting after the race. Hard to believe it was 22 years ago… it seems like it was yesterday. Over two decades later, the Yukon Quest still has a special place in my heart.
